PRIMARY SCHOOL ARTS TEACHER
Create meaningful arts experiences
Design engaging learning opportunities where students explore ideas through design, making, performance and creative expression. Support students in expressing understanding through multiple creative modes.
Collaborate as a specialist team
Work closely with fellow Arts specialists to plan integrated learning experiences, flexible groupings and project-based inquiry. Contribute expertise in your discipline while supporting connected learning across the programme.
Inspire playful inquiry
Develop arts experiences that foster curiosity, experimentation and imagination. Encourage student voice, choice and ownership in creative processes.
Support creating and responding
Guide students through artistic processes including exploring, designing, rehearsing, composing, performing, reflecting and refining ideas.
Teach flexibly
Work with small groups of students in studio rotations, workshops, project-based learning and collaborative productions. Adapt teaching to meet diverse needs and interests.
Make learning visible
Document student learning through portfolios, exhibitions, performances, showcases and shared outcomes. Support students in reflecting on their creative process.
Collaborate with homeroom teachers
Connect arts learning to units of inquiry where meaningful, and contribute to transdisciplinary learning experiences.
Grow professionally
Engage in collaborative planning, reflect on practice, experiment with new approaches, and contribute to the development of ISB’s integrated Arts programme.
IS THIS YOU?
We are looking for two Arts educators with complementary strengths:
One educator with qualifications and experience teaching design and handcraft/ Håndværk og Design to children aged 5–11
One educator with qualifications and experience teaching performance (e.g. drama, movement, music performance) to children aged 5–11
Experience in additional arts areas (e.g. music, drama, visual arts or movement) is an advantage for both roles.
Passionate about inquiry-based learning and playful education
Able to work collaboratively as part of a specialist team
Comfortable teaching flexibly in small groups, studios and project-based settings
Strong relationship-building skills with students and colleagues
Interested in integrated arts and transdisciplinary learning
Creative, adaptable and open to experimentation
