We are looking for a dedicated PYP Homeroom Teacher to join our Primary team next school year at ISB, starting August 2026. You’ll work with our 5-11 year old learners, helping them discover, explore and grow through inquiry-driven learning and the power of play! The position is a Maternity Cover August 2026 – June 2027 (full academic year).

PYP HOMEROOM TEACHERS AT ISB
Build relationships: Develop positive connections with students and foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
Inspire learning: Plan engaging inquiry-based lessons, differentiate to meet the needs of all learners, and create dynamic learning environments that values student agency and hands-on exploration
Collaborate and integrate: Work closely with co-teachers and subject specialists to plan and implement transdisciplinary units that integrate the arts, technology, and physical education, and are aligned with IB best practices
Assess and give feedback: Use a variety of formative assessments to monitor student progress, adjust teaching accordingly, and provide constructive feedback that empowers students to take ownership of their growth
Communicate: Maintain open communication with parents, and support students in setting learning goals, tracking progress and developing self-reflection skills
Grow professionally: Engage in ongoing professional development, reflect on own teaching practices, embrace feedback, experiment with new approaches, and contribute to a collaborative and positive school culture
IS THIS YOU?
A qualified teacher with a recognized teaching certification (a Bachelor’s Degree in Education as a minimum)
Passionate about inquiry-based learning and playful education
Strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment
Experienced in differentiating to meet diverse learning needs, including multilingual and neurodiverse learners
Building relationships based on empathy, respect and understanding
Approaching planning and teaching collaboratively, with a focus on developing the whole child
